The last GAPA Banquet & Gala was held in 2018 to celebrate GAPA’s 30th anniversary. After a three-year hiatus, on October 01, 2022, GAPA is planning to host you back at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center!

This year’s theme is “Building Communities of Action.” In light of the Supreme Court decision to rollback precedent with the overturning of Roe v. Wade, it is important to reflect on the gains that our Asian and Pacific Islander and LGBTQ+ communities have made to advance our civil rights and liberties; but, it is also time to reflect on how we can coalesce to protect them. Set to take the stage as our keynote speaker is a long-time ally - California Attorney General Rob Bonta.

The event will be catered by Peony Restaurant 金牡丹海鮮茶寮, a dim sum and seafood institution at the heart of Oakland Chinatown, serving the Bay Area for over 20 years with professional chefs from Hong Kong.
